MISSION STATEMENT
St. Cornelius Catholic School partners with each family, and supports the parents who are the primary educators of their children. We build our faith community based on the gospel call to know the one true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. We are called to live in that relationship through love, service, and social justice. We academically prepare students through a rigorous curriculum, which empowers them to be independent life-long learners. Our inclusive environment teaches our students to learn according to their God given abilities, to value human dignity, and to serve the needs of others.

PHILOSOPHY
The administration and faculty of St. Cornelius Catholic School recognizes that it shares with the family the educational mission of the Church. We endeavor to build a total faith community based on the gospel challenge of dedication to love, freedom, and social justice. It is our hope that each student will experience the love of God, feel accepted, develop a realistic self-image, learn according to God-given ability and grow in awareness of the needs of others within the local, national and global community.

SPIRITUAL GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Goal - To encourage our students to develop a relationship with God, participate in the life of the church through prayer, Eucharist, service and to love and respect one another. We aim to help our students recognize Catholic values, their dignity, uniqueness, and potential within the church community.

Objectives - We attempt to achieve these goals by:
Providing opportunities for our students' spiritual formation through prayer, liturgies, integrated religious instruction, and Christian service. Modeling courtesy, generosity, sharing, and love through mutual respect and acceptance of others. Directing our students to accept the consequences of their own moral decisions.

INTELLECTUAL GOALS & OBJECTIVES
Goals - To challenge each student to grow according to his/her intellectual ability, to inspire a self-motivated desire for knowledge, and to provide students with the necessary academic skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world.

Using methods of instruction that will motivate students to acquire basic skills needed to read, communicate, compute, study, think critically and solve problems.  Providing positive reinforcement to encourage achievement.  Assigning age-appropriate homework to reinforce skills taught in class. Scheduling field trips and assemblies, which enhance classroom curriculum. Facilitating the academic needs of students through the use of aides and tutors, both on-staff, and through parish volunteers.
