2008-2009 SUPPLIES FOR GRADE 2
REMINDER:
Homework Planners and Book Socks will be available for purchase at school during registration.
The following supplies will be needed when school opens:
1. 3 spiral notebooks (8 1/2 x 11) - labeled D.O.L., Social Studies, Vocabulary
2. A supply of no. 2 pencils sharpened for school each day. Bring 10 newly sharpened and labeled pencils each day.
3. Small Timer that can fit in the desk.
4. 2 red pencils sharpened and labeled.
5. 1 highlighter
6. Crayons - Twistable Crayola -package of 8 colors - labeled
7. Plastic zipper case for pencils - labeled
8. Plastic zipper case for crayons - labeled
9. Eraser, 6 glue sticks (not labeled)
10. 3 solid color pee chee type folders with bottom pocket (no side pockets) – labeled:
1. Homework, 2. T.T.F.N. (Things To Finish Now), and 3. Take Home
11. Scissors – labeled
12. 2 individual travel packets of Kleenex (to be replaced as needed)
13. Markers - 1 box – labeled
14. Basic watercolor set – labeled
15. Box of baby wipes (will probably collect more throughout the year as needed)
16. Colored pencils
17. 1 one gallon size ziplock bag
18. 1 ruler with inches and centimeters
19. 3 standard size book covers (St. Cornelius Cougars work well - $3 each)
20. 1 small bottle of white glue
21. Clear contact paper to cover consumable books
22. Magic Tree House Books: 1. Midnight on the Moon, 2. Dolphins at Daybreak, and 3. Vacation Under a Volcano - all books by Mary Pope Osborne
A book bag must be used every day to bring items to and from school. Please make sure that all of the noted items above are well labeled with your child’s name, as well as lunch boxes, sweaters, book bags and anything that might be misplaced. No wheeled book bags due to lack of storage space.

PLEASE LABEL
All school supplies must be labeled with your student's name, including lunch boxes, backpacks,
all clothing items such as sweaters, jackets and anything else that might end up in our school's
lost and found box.
BOOK COVERS
All hardcover textbooks must be covered. Please help with this. Stretch cloth covers (book socks)
can be purchased. These really work! The covers stay on all year! The students can remove them
and use them again the following school year. Cover workbooks with contact paper.
Label workbooks - include name and grade.
BACKPACKS
All students must use a backpack every day in which to bring items to and from school.
Wheeled backpacks are not permited due to limited storage space.
REPLENISH
Parents, please review this list with your student from time to time. Being prepared for class will count
as an effort grade for students. Please keep this list handy during the year as your student
will run out of some of these items. Replenish supplies as needed.
